I hold a Higher Diploma and Master’s Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Dublin Business School, Practitioner Certificate in CBT from IICP and Practitioners Certificate in Emotion-Focussed couples therapy (IEFT). I work within an integrative framework, drawing from trainings in several different theoretical approaches, all integrated through. These approaches take into account many views of human existence: Existential, Psychodynamic, Client centred, Family therapy, Gestalt therapy, Object relations theories, Psychoanalytic, and Transactional Analysis. I also encourage creativity and self-expression.
I actively listen to client’s experiences and help them to identify their patterns. I also encourage them to express their feelings and create a safe place for change to happen. I facilitate clients in the developing of new strategies for coping. I understand why people resist change and work with them to help them recognize and overcome their resistance. Lasting change can only happen from the inside out.
I am fully accredited with the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (I.A.C.P.).
